Purpose:
To Glorify God
To display His presence in all areas and at all times in our lives.
To encourage and draw others into this ministry.
To serve the congregation by bringing us into an environment that together we can offer a meaningful response to who God is through music, scripture and prayer.
History:
Peter and Heidi Flom were previously on the Lake Community Church team in Alexandria. The concept of a new church plant in the Starbuck/Glenwood area was being born. After five years at LLC, Hope Community Church was a reality and they began core group training with five other couples for the new church plant committment to help “grow” Hope Community Church. Peter recently went home to be with his Lord and Savior (Oct. 2007) and is greatly missed by all at Hope.
Our worship team was very small at first, with Peter (keyboard) and Heidi and Karin Egdorf (vocals). Shortly after that, Eric Jensen (vocals) and Laura Cihlar (guitar) joined the group, as well as Joel Sutton (guitar). We had been praying for a drummer. Laura said she also plays drums and would rather play them.
Then Bruce Tanis and Sue Cihlar joined (vocals and percussion). Bruce was now able to play guitar after an accident many years ago had left him unable to play. Zach Jorgenson now plays the keyboard. Little by little we were blessed with our current worship team and continually see God working in our group. This is where we are but we are always looking for more people to join us in leading people into His presence.
