Before I was saved, my life didn’t make any sense, the same thing every day. I wanted ti quit my old ways. Something directed me to Praise FM, a gospel radio station, and something started to change. I felt questions about my life being answered. I called a number they advertised on the radio station, which led me to Daryl. Then I started working with a person who always talked about a man named Tim Schmitz.
One day I met Tim, during work. He told me about Hope Community Church. I felt like the lost sheep in Luke 15:4-7, until Tim and Daryl came to rescue me with the Scriptures. Now this change took some time. My family was falling apart. I didn’t know why until I realized that my Savior separated my family to have time with me. That’s when I had an understanding of what pain Jesus went through for my sins. I felt the pain and cried so hard which brought me to my knees. “My Savior Loves, My Savior Lives,” by Aaron Shust was the song I was listening to when this happened.
Jesus opened my eyes. Now through prayer, part of my family came together. I was still trying to change my old ways until the Pastor did a home visit. He talked to me and my wife on what we needed to do. Then within a couple of months and through prayers, my old ways faded, my wife’s also.
There’s more to this life changing story but to come to a conclusion: A person can ask out of their mouth plenty of times for forgiveness relating to John 3:16, but it doesn’t count until they mean it in their heart.
There were five steps in my change:
1. I was a lost sheep.
2. God gave me an understanding of the meaning of John 3:16.
3. I repented and asked for forgiveness with my heart.
4. Now I know I have eternal life with Jesus.
5. No I am caring for others.
He cares for you, too. Have you considered Jesus?
